Community Guidelines
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Our community standard
12sixteen exists to help people connect through health, fitness and movement. We want the Platform to be welcoming, respectful and safe for members and creators of different backgrounds, abilities and experience levels.
By using 12sixteen, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines and our Terms of Use.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users, including harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, discriminatory abuse, sexual harassment and other serious harmful conduct.
1. Treat people with respect
You must not:
Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate or abuse another person.
Use hate speech, discriminatory slurs or targeted degrading language.
Engage in sexual harassment, unwanted sexual conduct or threats.
Encourage violence or target someone for their identity, appearance, ability, fitness level or personal circumstances.
Organise or encourage others to abuse, intimidate or harass a member.
Disagreement is permitted. Abuse and intimidation are not.
2. Keep fitness content responsible
Fitness is personal, and people have different abilities, goals and limitations.
You must not publish content that deliberately encourages dangerous exercise practices, reckless use of equipment, harmful challenges or other conduct likely to put people at unreasonable risk.
Creators must represent their qualifications and experience honestly, avoid misleading health or performance claims, and provide appropriate context for workouts where necessary.
Do not present yourself as medically or professionally qualified if you are not. Do not make unlawful or misleading claims that a workout diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents a medical condition.
Members are responsible for choosing activities suitable for their circumstances. Content on 12sixteen is not a substitute for individual medical advice.
3. Prohibited content
You must not publish or share:
Sexually explicit content, including pornography or explicit sexual imagery.
Graphic violence, gratuitously disturbing imagery or other graphic content inappropriate for the Platform.
Content that promotes harassment, hate, threats or targeted abuse.
Unlawful, fraudulent or deliberately misleading material.
We may remove content that breaches these rules or that we reasonably consider harmful or inappropriate for the community.
4. Be honest
Do not:
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
Falsify personal bests, workout records or leaderboard results.
Make fraudulent or deliberately misleading claims.
Misrepresent qualifications, sponsorships, endorsements or commercial relationships.
Manipulate Platform features to gain an unfair advantage.
5. Respect privacy and intellectual property
Only upload content you own or have permission to use.
Do not share another person's private information, images or videos without appropriate permission or another lawful basis. Do not publish private conversations or sensitive information to target or embarrass someone.
Do not upload copyrighted music, videos, photographs, workout plans or other material without the rights required to do so.
6. No spam or misuse
Do not use 12sixteen to:
Spam members or repeatedly publish unwanted promotional material.
Scam, defraud or mislead others.
Distribute malware or attempt unauthorised access.
Manipulate leaderboards, referrals or other Platform features.
Circumvent security controls or misuse the Platform.
Conduct unlawful activity.
Promotions, sponsorships and affiliate relationships must be disclosed where required by law and applicable Platform terms.
7. Reporting and blocking
If you see content or behaviour that breaches these Guidelines, use the in-app reporting feature or the support contact published by 12sixteen.
You can use the blocking feature to limit unwanted interaction with another account. Blocking may not prevent every indirect interaction or remove content already shared.
Reports submitted through the Platform are received by 12sixteen for review. We aim to review reports within 24 hours, prioritising reports involving an immediate risk of harm. Where content breaches these Guidelines, we will remove it and may suspend or permanently ban the user responsible.
Please provide accurate information when making a report. Do not use reporting tools to deliberately harass, intimidate or make knowingly false allegations against another member.
8. How we enforce these Guidelines
We may take action where content or behaviour breaches these Guidelines, our Terms of Use or applicable law.
Depending on the seriousness and circumstances, action may include:
Removing or restricting content.
Issuing a warning or requiring content to be corrected.
Restricting particular Platform features.
Temporarily suspending an account.
Permanently terminating an account.
Taking other action required by law or necessary to protect members.
Serious harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, discriminatory abuse, sexual harassment and other harmful conduct may result in immediate content removal or account suspension or termination. We may act without advance notice where necessary to protect members, prevent harm or comply with legal obligations.
For less serious first-time breaches, we may issue a warning or allow an opportunity to correct the behaviour where appropriate. We consider the nature, severity and context of the conduct, including repeated breaches.
Submitting a report does not guarantee that content will be removed or that a particular enforcement action will be taken.
9. Keeping the community safe
These Guidelines may be updated as the Platform develops. Continued use of 12sixteen is subject to the applicable Terms of Use and updated Guidelines.
If you have a concern about content, conduct or safety, please use the in-app reporting feature or contact info@12sixteen.com.
